![]() What should I have to worry about? Durability? reliability? Everything? I could pay double and get a Colt, but if there's nothing really wrong with the Auto ordnance, i'd be happy with it.ĭrown me with west hurley auto ordnance info please! I want to make an informed decision and NOT buy a sh**e gun. Please enter the rifle serial number without. In other words, the scant info on this gun i could find was contradictory. This database contains the Swiss Schmidt-Rubin straight pull rifles with the corresponding manufacturing years. I think a safe bet is that the AOC is Auto-Ordnance. and then beneath that is the serial number starting with AOC139XXXX. If yours is the same as mine, above the serial number it is engraved with Auto-Ordnance Corp., underneath that is West Hurley, N.Y. The gun has a brushed blue finish and looks nice to my eye, but I've heard everything from the west hurley's having all cast parts (including slide and frame) and being total junk to the west hurleys having a machined slide and frame and not being bad. I looked at my West Hurley Auto Ordnance 1911, my serial numbers also start with AOC. Here is the listing > (if anyone "steals" it off me, i'll be sore with you) The serial number is actually pretty nice I think. I believe it was made in the early eighties. The serial number starts with "AOC" and is well under 50,000, if that info is relevant. I have an opportunity to buy a west hurley auto ordnance 1911. ![]()
